I’ve never been a big fan of any of the Marvel characters. Growing up, I wasn’t really into comics, but I did like heroes like Batman, Spider-Man and the X-Men. However, taking them all into one movie is so amazing and something I would’ve loved as a kid. And I loved this movie as an adult. It was really, really great. For the first 30 minutes or so, I wasn’t pretty sure what to make of it. It can be a little confusing if you’re not familiar with the characters and the other films. The moment it really came together for me was when the Avengers literally came together. Having all these characters in one place was exciting. I loved how they all connected to each other in exceptional ways. Their interactions were one of my favourite things about the film. There’s a lot of pressure between them; they’re not the most united of teams. I really liked that they all got their moments to shine. None of them felt unneeded. I was dissatisfied that The Hulk had been recast, but after seeing this, I’m glad he was. Mark Ruffalo (Bruce Banner/The Hulk) was flawless and showed how miscast both Eric Bana and Edward Norton were. All the actors were great. Scarlett Johansson (Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow) is sizzling hot. Sorry, I had to say it. Lots and lots of action. All of which was well-done, and exciting, and visually extraordinary. The final battle could’ve gone on a whole lot lengthier and I would’ve been fine with it. The film had a decent running time which I really liked, and, again, I could’ve done with more. The movie is full of Whedon’s trademark wit. Myself and everyone around me were giggling many times throughout. Robert Downey Jr. (Tony Stark/Iron Man) was made to deliver Whedon’s one-liners. It had plenty of Whedon’s touches, which satisfied me greatly. What else? Oh, I don’t know, it was all bizarre. I’m sure there are many things you could criticise about it, but it’s just an amazing comic book movie. It knows what it is and doesn’t take itself too seriously. I’m keen to see more movies in this series, whether the characters are separate or not.

My Blackberry phone was experiencing a battery problem. And to solve the issue, I went to Blackberry Zuela to buy a new battery. I went to Greenbelt last time to buy any book written by Nicholas Sparks. Why? I was like pushed to read after watching the movie, The Lucky One. I bought True Believer. Then watched Battleship.

The weather is really serious about itself. Summer, and it’s really hot.  So, I visited the mall yesterday to chill out. I checked out a few stores and landed at Oxygen, and without even thinking, bought a new wallet.

It’s great to see brands such as Levi’s not rest on their successes as they remain to progress their products. Keeping that in mind, Levi’s footwear looks promising, to say the least. The new collection, which was produced in collaboration with Levi’s Japan, is set to launch this summer and will be available at select Levi’s footwear stockists.

So, The Lucky One. Like all earlier Sparks’ adaptations, The Lucky One is a trite love story that floats pointlessly until Nicholas’ Reaper lowers his sickle. Zac Effron is Logan (because of course he is), a Marine who discovers a picture of a woman, Beth (Taylor Schilling), in a war zone. After Logan endures three tours in Iraq, he attributes it to this picture of “an angel in hell.” So, he sets about trying to find her, walking from Colorado to Louisiana, so he can thank her for saving his life. Problem is, when he finds her — at a dog kennel — he can’t bring himself to find the words, so instead he takes a job as a handyman/dog walker. Over water-splashing canoe trips in the pond, kitchen dances, and piano recitals in church, Beth and Logan fall in love. The rub? Beth has an gorgeous son, whose father — Beth’s ex — is an obnoxious asshole and a local cop with a lot of influences in the small Southern town. He wants to keep Beth and Logan apart, and the kid gets trapped in the middle.

The question that thus ascends about twenty minutes into the movie is this: Who will die? Will it be Beth, at the hands of her ex? Will it be Logan, trying to save Beth from her ex? Will it be the kid, who gets caught in a fight between Logan, Beth and her ex? Will it be a murder suicide? Or will it be the ex, whose death will distress only the son? I’m not going to ruin it for you, because should you be required against your will to watch The Lucky One someday, I don’t want to spoil the only pleasure that can be gained from watching: The game of who will die?

April 16, 2012. It was the day that we meet again. My high school peers– Aubrey, Lea, and Krystle, and I decided to meet since everyone was around  Makati at that moment. Lea lives a few streets from my apartment. Krystle, who is currently taking her OJT in Mandaluyong,  was going to her apartment in Makati. And Aubrey, the newly grad-lady of Laguna, was at McKinley, Taguig for her first job application (she nailed it!).

We decided to meet at Glorietta 4. It was a blasts seeing each other after more than a year. Since our meeting wasn’t plan, we decided to have dinner at Tokyo Tokyo, Aegis People Support, Makati.

After dinner, we had a long walk along Ayala to Dela Rosa. We just talked and talked, trying to sum up everything that happened in that more than a year of not seeing each other. We still had energy to take photos even we’re all tired and sleepy.

It was fun and memorable even though our gang wasn’t complete. I miss them already, all of them.

Lorenzo, who recorded himself singing a song he wrote particularly for his crush. He was so pleased his film clip got many hits on YouTube that he hungrily told his mother about it, not knowing that it was actually his mom who kept on watching his video post, just so he would feel good about himself.

I have to say, the Anna Banana PLDT commercial is really cute. I cherished the fact that the bottom-line was that a mom would do anything for her child. In this instance, the mom ups the views of her son’s song video on YouTube.

I really love the song sang by Derek. He actually composed it himself for Anna, the awesomest girl in his class.

This Derek boy is really cute and awesome. He filmed himself again and composed a Thank You song for the people who viewed and commented on his Anna Banana video.
